Since the practices are on the same day, I am having trouble choosing between both clubs. I love both clubs. Debate Team or Math Team? can't choose between both clubs..help

I say debate.

why???^
10 char

I don't know. It just seems better to me.

reasons?? 10 char'

math team because math is fun!!!!

What are your strengths? Have you visited both clubs? Have you asked the sponsors/presidents if you can alternate, one week at one club and another week at the other? I'm big in my school's theatre dept., so during plays, i'm not very active in clubs, but the other people know this and it's okay with them. So check and see!

try to do both. but personally math > debate anytime

This is a really subjective question.

I personally hate math, so obviously I'm going to tell you Debate. But some people who hate debate will tell you to join math. You've just gotta make the decision.

Depends what you are better at. If you think you are going to win more awards in math, go for it. If you think you are going to win more awards in debate, choose that. The end objective with all EC's is to win titles, positions, and awards. At least it is that way for the selective college admissions process.

Having spoken to you, I say go for math team, even though I personally prefer debate.

What exactly do you do in debate competitions? Is is difficult to place?

Well, what do you want out of it?

From my experience, debate takes up a lot of your time. In fact, some debators I know do only that. However, they are amazing (constant podiums at nationals). If you are really good at debate, it will look better for colleges than math. Remember, you can always do stuff like AMC/AIME/USAMO (probably the most important math contests that colleges care about), without being on the math team.

However, do what you want to do. You'll definitely enjoy it the most.

Debate => you have to spend a lot of time preparing speeches for tournaments, etc.
Math => you just go to the tournament, flip through your calc textbook a bit, and take home trophies...

I guess there's a reason I dropped out of debate club after two weeks. :p

Debate sounds cooler (or at least less nerdy).

Appreciate the feedback. One factor that annoys me a bit is all of the debate members have this ''click''. sigh. Can't let that bother me.
