So it all comes to this. June 1st. The date which represents the end of quite a number of things for me. That means declining all the UCs I got accepted into and considering which one I want. It's long so bear with me D:

I'm at a crossroads atm, and I'm seriously going to spend the entire day thinking about it.

UCLA has been my dream school, always has been. And of course, the exuberance and joy I felt when I got accepted was.... worthwhile. From then on, I put my foot in this school and started getting to work. The huge mistake I made was applying as a Classics major. Believe it or not, it was more of a quick route to satisfaction. And of course, my primary goal in life is to end up being an ancient civilization historian at some point. I submitted my SIRs, got Housing in check, etc. Then, I glanced and researched the major more thoroughly. I kept telling myself that this was the major I wanted to pursue. Until I looked at the actual statistics of it. Sure, UCLA is ranked #9 in the nation for Classics, but the number of people who actually attend it is smaller than my old high school classes for... anything. So I told myself, is this REALLY it. I looked if I can somewhat change my major and I noticed the fat chance of being rescinded. The major is extremely work-intensive, but rewarding towards the end. It would certainly look good if I wanted to pursue a medical/law degree. Sad fact is, I don't. I want it for the history. The historical data.

Yes, I wasn't cut to apply as a History major. I couldn't fill out the pre-req. for UCLA History. This was actually why I had a huge consideration towards UCSD. I got in the school as a History major.

But then came along USC on the 29th of May. I know that USC isn't necessarily known for its History department compared to Films/Journalism, but the school has a reputation and quite a prestige. It has a social network and connection. The only thing that I dislike about it is the fact that it doesn't have such a stable transfer system compared to the UCs. UCLA feels like its giving me more of that "no turning back" idea. So if I happen to dislike Classics, I'm stuck with it for the next 2 years. Whereas USC History would probably give me alot more benefit in regards to searching more into the field.

I don't know though. I'm at a crossroads here though. I feel pretty stupid for not researching the Classics major extensively. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do?
