Hard Decision to make

I looking at 3 schools in New York (I am a instate residence), majoring in construction management, SUNY Esf which has no accreditations for my major, SUNY Alfred state which is abet and acce accredited, Utica College Acce accredited, and SUNY Delhi which has no accreditation for my major? I look into student life, surrounding areas and cost as a element to choosing a school, don’t know if it’s worth me going to a out of state institution that is well know and regarded as a better school than the list I have? Please any one give me some helpful advice

Even though SUNY ESF is the best school you’re looking at, I wouldn’t recommend it. You definately want ABET accredition, its way more rigorous and widely accepted than ACCE. The way I see it, you should either choose SUNY Alfred State, or start looking at colleges out of state.

If you want a more prestigious program instate however, look into SUNY Farmingdale. It’s program in Construction Management Engineering Technology is ABET accredited.

It would also help if you gave your stats, such as GPA and SAT/ACT scores.

In another post you said you’re currently attending a cc. Will you have your 2-year degree when you transfer? How much can your parents pay per year? Transfers don’t get much aid and you can only borrow ~$7500/year as a junior & senior. Is Alfred the only SUNY with accreditation for the major you want?

So bascally going to SUNY Alfred state would be a wise move than Utica college because of ABET? What is the benefit of ABET? And I will be a transfer from a community college in New York

@mohchan360

@austinmshauri I will be getting a general studies associate degree and I’m not sure if my parents will be able to help as much, and Yes SUNY Alfred is the only SUNY that is abet and acce accredited for my major. SUNY esf and SUNY Delhi are not and Utica college

Then I would pick SUNY Alfred if you can afford it.

@austinmshauri I’m sorry I meant to say Utica college is acce accredited so I narrowed it down to Alfred state and Utica college, I think I will make SUNY Alfred my back up since Utica college I hear is well regarded
