Hard Math Question, please help.

I am confused about the Collegeboard Blue Book Test 8, sec. 8, question 15. Can someone explain the answer, please?

Trace the 5 angles given and choose which has the smallest angle measure.
XAY
XBY is larger than XAY
XCY is same as XAY
XDY is the answer
Because its a diagonal, its longer than XAY and XCY
This question is about angle properties

The problem is the one where u find the value of k. Can someone please help me with that problem?

I did the sum this way

Ques: n/(n-1) * 1/ n * n/(n+1) = 5/k

Just multiply the first part and you get

n/(n^2 - 1)=5/k
and then let n =5 then n^2 - 1 = 24
therefore 5/k = 5/24
k=24

I did it this way , its hard to post squares...

So start off by canceling out unneeded terms
N / (n-1)(n+1) = 5/k is what you get
I will write this easier
N = 5
---------- = -------
(n-1)(n+1) = k
So obviously from this info. N = 5
So plug it into the bottom part of equation and you get 24.
The trick is to NOT let (n-1)(n+1) fool you into saying thats (n-1)^2.
That simply cannot simply so don't try to foil it.
