So I've been trying to get a hold of the admission office for a while now, and it's slightly impossible.

If you can answer these...

I read in one thread (post by alamemom) that the Financial Statement can be sent in after New Years if you need scholarships to pay the tuition, but a more detailed account of this process would be appreciated. Do we need to call the admission office and tell them about our situation?

Do the SAT scores have to be, so to speak, "post marked" by December 1? I want to get away without paying, so I'm using one of my four free score recipients to be USC (I believe the scores are sent after the December SATs are corrected, right before Christmas?). Do I need to pay and send the scores?

For the first one - the statement of financial support must be submitted before USC can send a letter of acceptance, so yes, the first week of January should work. They can consider your application without it. I have only heard rumors about students who have submitted it saying they would need a scholarship to attend - I do not know the process or if it worked out for them at all. Right now it will be very hard to get through to admissions - things should be a bit less frenzied by about the middle of December and you can call for help with the form then.

The regular delivery of December SAT scores will work - use the free score reports, and as soon as unofficial scores are available to you online, print out a copy and FAX it to USC with your USC ID# on it. (FAX # is posted in the New Applicant Toolkit thread.)

Thanks for the reply!

Sorry, I phrased my second question strangely. I actually meant that my scores from all my other test sittings will be sent together with the December SAT. Is it ok if those are sent in that late?

Yes, that will work fine, all your scores will go with the December report.

But you should FAX in an unofficial printout of the scores you already have NOW and then update with the new scores as soon as they are available.
