HARD SAT math question

I fail at those. Can someone give me some tips to overcome this FAIL?

First, what do you mean by hard? I assume you mean Level 4 and 5 questions. Second, what is your current SAT math score? You should only be working on Level 4 questions if your current score is over 500, and you should only be working on Level 5 questions if your current score is over 650.

If you meet these requirements, then you might want to read my article “Stop Getting Those Last Few Hard SAT Math Questions Wrong.” It’s posted on this forum somewhere - just do a search. You may also want to look at my articles on “careless” errors, and the correct way to take the SAT for an 800 in math.

You need to do some homework.

To be honest, my score is like 1 wrong score, which is around 75 in PSAT terms. And it’s usually the last question that trips me over!

It might help to start from the end of the section and work your way to the beginning.

^ I REALLLLY recommend against doing that! If you go in the usual order and you have a bad section where you run out of time on the last one or two, well it’s not great but it’s not a disaster. But if you go in reverse order and you have a bad section where the hardest questions soak up too much of your time, you might run out of time before doing the two or three easiest questions! Or you might realize that you were running late, speed up and make two or three ridiculous mistakes!

So I say go in the proper order, take your time, do the best you can and if you get stuck at -1, well you will just have to deal with that tragedy when it comes. Can probably still get into college :)

@joe789, all the questions are weighted equally, so it’d make sense to start from #1.
