I heard that the CSU system is so saturated with students that it's very difficult to graduate within six years. I plan on going to CSULB and I'm really worried about this because I'm majoring in biology and pre medicine. I'm serious about medical school and as a CSU, I'm worried that I will have a disadvantage.

I wouldnt be worried about graduating within 6 years. Haven’t had a problem registering yet, (transfer student) always get the classes i need, just maybe not the times i want.

If you’re really worried or want to get a better idea of class availability for your specific major. Just look at the spring schedule and see which classes have open seats. I’ll be transferring this fall, so cant say for sure, but from looking at my major most of the major specific courses (300-400 level) have open seats - enough open seats to fill 18 units.

[Schedule of Classes](Schedule of Classes)

I tried to plan out a my classes for the next three semesters, looking at past schedules, considering the class distribution is relatively the same. And as a transfer student I should have no problem finishing in 2 years (4 total). You could also I’d assume take GE courses at LBCC, if you cannot get into them at CSULB. Then simply transfer the credits.

I’ll definitely look into taking community college classes if I can’t get them at CSULB. I hope to graduate in four years. Hopefully I’ll get it done that fast :)

also for transfers: the department will save seats for you guys in certain classes for your major so you should get those initial classes
