IS emory hard to get into...Would you put it on par with getting into Vanderbilt?

I consider Emory to be more selective than Vanderbilt due to its more national draw. That said, both schools are relatively close in terms of selectivity.

What are the acceptance rates for both schools?

It's getting harder to get into Emory. The average SAT is around a 1390(old test) and the average unweigthed GPA of incoming freshman is a 3.8. Considering the fact that a 1390 and a 3.8UW is not easy to get, then I would say that, yes, it is hard to get into Emory. This year, 2005-2006, Emory had around a 35-37% acceptance rate because of the continous rise in applications. Emory had over 12,000 applications, and Emory accepts around 4300 of applicants. Emory is becoming hotter, and an increasing number of students are realizing that the school is a "hidden jewel."
