hard-wire connection in dorm?

<p>hey, i am heading off to college soon and i hope to be able to bring my desktop with me. However, as far as i know i need to have a wired connection for my computer to access the internet. do all dorms come with some means to accommodate for this? I plan to spend at least some of my time gaming and the laptop i have is not fast enough to run the games that I play. I looked on the school's website and it said that students are prohibited to set up their own personal wireless routers.</p>

<p>At least for my school, they have ethernet ports in the dorm rooms, one per person.</p>

<p>Almost certainly yes, but if you want to be 100% a cheap wifi PCI card can probably be had for like $10.</p>

<p>Almost every school has ethernet ports (wired connection) in their dorm rooms. So yes, you’ll be fine.</p>
