Harder languages?

Yeah, another of my typical questions.

DD has been taking Japanese since starting HS. She is a rising senior, and will be taking 4th year (AP) Japanese. She has been getting B's and B+'s in Japanese. While her (very competive) HS offers a wide range of languages, it seems most kids take what I think are easier ones (Spanish, mainly).

Will her choice of Japanese help her (we are thinking mainly of schools the next level in selectivity down from the ivies - RPI, UR, etc)

I don’t think they will make a big deal about it… as long as she’s not a native speaker.

We are American Jews, no Japanese heritage :)

A not inconsiderable number of kids in her J class are asians - the Chinese kids at least know the kangi (often, sort of) and the Korean kids know some vocab.
