My school doesn't rank students; does this make it harder or easier to get into colleges?

Sometimes for state schools (atleast TX where the top 10%=auto) harder. But to most private college its about the same. If you’re school doesn’t rank college won’t dock you for that.

Only if you would have been the val/sal.

Most colleges have regional admissions counselors who will be familiar with your high school. If a college needs a ranking–as do some awards and scholarships–the high school probably has your rank. It is just not something publicized. In a small private prep school, for example, those in the bottom half may be pretty good students. Heck, even in some public schools, large or small, you could be in the bottom half and not be too bad.
