harder to get in to uva or unc oos?

i know uva is a better school but bc of the oos numbers (1/3 for uva and 17% unc) do you think chance of admission is similar or harder at one, any thoughts?

unc is perhaps a bit harder due to 18% cap.

I remember one person on this board last year who was waitlisted IS at UVA and OOS at UNC but eventually was accepted at UNC and not at UVA!

UNC is harder for OOS.

UVa is a better school though.

thanks guys. i am just getting nervous bc i thought i would at least get deferred from unc ea but i got denied. :(

jcg1323 if you have any questions lemme know... i am IS from Virginia. Applied to both UVa and UNC. I LOVE UNC but the only drawback is the cost. I was waitlisted at UVa and eventually denied due to overenrollment. Parents want me to apply to transfer due to cost :(

Ha! so my memory serves me right! Good luck this time around. Let us know if you made it.

I'm very interested in this question, too. I was accepted EA OOS and am wondering if I really even need to worry about UVA or WM.

When I was accepted to UNC EA oos I was relieved that somebody took me. I knew worst case that I had a good school to go to but UVa was still my first choice. I remember going from worried before decisions came out, to being confused after I got accepted everywhere I applied. In a few weeks you will be in the same boat.

I would say try not to worry. UNC is a good indicator of the quality of your app. Nothing is in the bag with 21k applications to UVa this year but worrying won't do any good.
