Hardest AP classes and the Easiest AP Classes?

Rate them from hardest to easiest. You can explain a little on each, rate some of it or all of it, tell us what you got on the AP exam for it and so on. Thank you. It’s alot of reliable information high school students can learn.

Some are these are based on peoples opinions of what is difficult since i haven’t taken some of them.

@Decepters that chart doesn’t really make sense. There is no way AP human is harder than any other class. and isn’t AP econ the same as Macro/Micro ?

If you want a pretty nonbias chart, go http://www.totalregistration.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=494&Itemid=118 for AP score distribution.Ignore all the language ap(except English) b/c most are taken by native speakers. Also disregard the high percentage of 3-5 in classes with different levels such as Physic, Calc, Econ, because most of them will be majoring in those areas so it might not be easy if you just want AP credits.

@long2182998 its from hardest to easiest lol… i put ap physics c at the hardest

This list doesn’t have all of the APs on it. Unless that was intentional.

You can’t really rank them like that because different schools will not have the same difficulty of classes. The same AP class may be insanely difficult at one school and a joke at another. Not only that, but different students have different strengths. I would struggle a lot more doing foreign language APs, while many of my friends may struggle with AP sciences.

Deceptors list looks pretty accurate. My son will have taken all these ap’s except for comp. science and Psych, and based on what he has told me, this list is accurate. AP Human is mostly a freshman class and though not difficult, had ALOT of busy work, homework. As long as you are getting an A in the class and get the study guide to accompany the class a 5 in do-able in all these. Also, you forgot AP art history. Again, alot of work and you HAVE to get a book and study for this one, as there is so much info to cover, you never cover it all without some self-teaching.

AP world history would be a good one to add

This is not the first time this has been asked.

The teachers can make or break the class. If they pile on busywork that doesn’t teach the concepts or prepare for the exam, they are wasting everyone’s time. However, only the students at your school can provide info on that. Additionally, everyone has different skill sets; what’s easy for the STEM kid may be more challenging for the humanities-inclined student.

Some AP’s are intrinsically more time consuming than others. From my experience:

The hardest and/or most-time consuming, IMO, are: Calc BC (if taught as a one-year course after pre-calc), Physics C E&M

A small step down to the next level: Physics C Mech, Bio, Chem

A small step down to the next level: Eng Lit, Eng Lang, USH, Spanish Lit

A small step down to the next level: World Hist, Euro Hist, Art Hist, Calc AB, Calc BC (if taught as a one-year class after Calc AB)

A HUGE leap down to the next level: everything else

Physics C Mechanics really isn’t too bad until you hit torque.

STOP TEASING ME WITH A 5000 KILOMETER ROTATING SPACE STATION, COLLEGEBOARD! I DON’T CARE HOW FAST IT HAS TO TURN, JUST BUILD IT ALREADY!

Skill-based courses that require synthesis and application (Calc, Physics, English) will generally be more difficult than information/fact-based courses.

Thanks guys.
