Hardest AP Course?

At my school, AP Calculus BC and AP Lit are probably the hardest. I haven’t taken ap lit yet, but I’m currently taking AP Calculus BC and it’s REALLY hard…

at my school: ap bio and ap euro

solely because of the teachers

ap physics c is hard because of the material, but the teacher allows partner tests, even a partner midterm…

Hardest: ap chem, ap physics, ap calculus, ap euro, ap bio

Easiest: apush, ap environmental, ap literature, ap stats

AP physics c by far… It has a forever standing reputation at our school…

Edit 10char…

ap basket weaving.

I am taking ap euro right now and I would say it is a mid range class. It is a lot of self study and we go through the material quickly but I really enjoy the class although I am not a history buff or anything. I don’t actually get daily homework in that class but we have vocab (people events places) for an entire unit. So I have had up to 99 People places and events before :frowning: but if your a good student who has some interest in history I would recommend the class! But if your looking for an easy class take ap stats :)

I would have to say 95% of the teachers at my school aren’t competent teachers, ap or ib or not. I moved from a much better school so I o have a comparison. However the worst, in my experience, was ap chemistry. We learned absolutely nothing that I hadn’t learned at my previous school. The teacher gave us about 2 labs and maybe 6 tests. Perhaps this is why only 6 students chose to take the ap exam, and only 1 passed.

In my school, AP Chemistry is widely considered the hardest. The teacher was a former chemical researcher who takes her teaching very seriously and works her students like slaves. It takes a very talented and motivated student to get an A in AP Chem. However, her extensive preparation and tough grading leads to a majority of her students passing the AP test (However, of the 16 kids who take the class, only about 5 get 4’s or 5’s. 7 get 3’s and the rest 2’s or 1’s).

In terms of humanities, AP Spanish Language and AP US History I (not II) are considered the hardest. The AP Spanish teacher, similar to above, is very passionate about her discipline and works her students very hard. She takes off so many points for minute pronunciation or tense errors. However, these nit-picky things build up and a majority of her students pass the AP exam as well (however, only 7-10 kids take the class per year).

AP US I is taught by a former lawyer who is very lazy, but smart and hilarious. He does not teach anything at all and his tests are obscenely hard. Only about 5 of 40 kids get A’s. It takes a certain mindset to do well in APUSH1 mainly because all of the work and studying is done independently (all of his tests are significantly harder than actual AP questions).

AP Physics and AP Calc are tough, but probably not as hard as other schools mainly because they are senior-dominated AP’s where the teachers tend to cut them some slack as far as work goes. However, this reflects in generally poor performances on the AP tests.

AP US History is regarded as the hardest by most students in my school… but in actuality, Chemistry is the hardest. The people complaining about how hard APUSH is are the type of students to take one AP class. The students that say AP Chem is hardest are the students that have taken multiple AP classes. The ones complaining about APUSH wouldn’t touch AP Chem with a 10 ft pole.

I personally thought Calc was the hardest, and most AP students at my school agree it’s near the top of the list. It was harder for me than most students though, because the majority of students took it for CC credit, whereas I took the AP test. Since most took CC credit, the class is geared towards the final exam for the CC rather than the AP test.

I’ve only taken a couple, but here are my opinions:

Calculus AB: Easiest (Could probably self study in a couple weeks)
Calculus BC: Super easy (Easier than AB, recommend taking both exams same year)
Physics C: Easy, but hard (I average 92s on the tests but the class average is a 69)
Statistics: Medium (You need to be the rare student good at both math and analyzing)
Literature: Medium, but hard (Hard for me, but not for others)
World History: Medium
US History: Hard (need to know minute details in a 1500 page book)
Biology: Hardest (From what I have heard requires 1.5+ hours per night)

World: easy
Gov: easy
Physics: easy
Calc BC: mehh but doable
Psych: easy
Lit: annoying

Nothing has been realy hard yet.

You guys are crazy. Environmental Science and Human Geography is undeniably the hardest classes that have ever been and will ever be.

World: Easy
AB and BC: Easy
US History: Easy
Comp Sci A: Easy
Lang: Pretty Easy
Lit: A bit of a pain
Chem: Easy
Physics C Mech: Pretty Easy
Econ’s: Pretty easy. A bit of a pain at times.

At my school, AP Calc BC, Chem, and Physics C are THE MOST difficult courses.

It really depends on the teacher though. Unfortunately, 90% of the AP teachers at my school suck at teaching and I always find myself questioning the validity of their teaching licenses. But life goes on.
