Hardest class you've taken?

The title is incredibly self-explanatory.

So, what was it?

I honestly can't handle my current history class and will probably drop it. The teacher has the most unrealistic expectations.

For an essay, he gave me a C+. My mom, who is an English major, read over it; my dad, who is a history major, checked the facts. They agreed that it was good enough to get at least a B. His tests are also ridiculously difficult. If you don't memorize the majority of the chapter, you'll most likely get a C. If you don't study at all, you fail. This isn't even an AP class.

I guess that was my rant... How about you guys? What's the hardest class you've taken, and how did you survive?

I don’t think I’ve taken a difficult class(I had not taken anything weighted until now) with the exception of chemistry. The reason the class was hard was more because of the teacher, and not the material itself. My teacher broke her foot and had to go on medical leave for 5 months. During that time we had nothing but substitutes who were also teaching the AP chemistry class. To salvage time they taught us the AP chemistry work too. Therefore, during those five months I was doing AP chemistry without the weighted grade. It was unfortunate to say the least.

Chemistry last year. God, he was by far the worst teacher I have ever had. I had never gotten below an A in a science class before Chemistry. He was also a bible thumper who made frequent rants against gays.

I’m taking APUSH online. I made a 90 on the first test and felt bad about it. Then I talked to other students: 6 students took it together and used their book and the internet, no one made greater than a 72, the other student I talked to made a 56. The latter called the teacher and she said, “Don’t worry, most students fail the first test.”

Kinda hard to say since I’m still a few weeks into the school year. Maybe AP Biology b/c we get pelted with way too many tests/quizzes in a short amount of time.

My chem class last year…She was just a bleh teacher overall. Very intimidating, horrible at math and often would get it wrong during class. I don’t know who to credit more with actually teaching me the material, her or me. Very scary in general. Opposed to her though, I love my AP Chem teacher this year though, he’s the man!

Seems like chemistry is a common theme.

Introduction to Differential Equations… shudders

I’m in regular chemistry and currently have an A+. Science has never been my forte, so I decided to not take Honors. Taking Honors chemistry and history in my school = death. Add Spanish, in which the teacher takes 3 points off for missing accents, and there goes your social life.

I must say that history > science in difficulty… at least in my school. Chemistry Honors is very difficult, though.

AP biology. I loved learning but it had massive layers of information to it.

For me, it’s probably the chem class I’m in now. (But the teacher is great and I’m doing OK). I think it changes for person to person though, history last year was a tough teacher that a lot of people would call the toughest teacher they ever had, and I didn’t find it difficult at all so…

Russian literature – might seem easy enough but not when you have a 300 page book to read in 2 days…

Chemistry and English 11 were by far the hardest classes I’ve taken! What made Chemistry hard was the fact that my Chemistry teacher couldn’t teach, which isn’t surprising since he has a degree in Biology. English 11 w/ the Boz (short for Boswell) is notorious for being difficult. The teacher is what made that class hard, not the actual class. TONS of papers, analyses, ridiculous tests, etc.

I don’t know- so many
Algebra 2 which I took with the hardest teacher in the school who then promptly retired. Twas bad, vair, vair bad.
All ap’s at the moment because my teachers expect me to be psychic.
ex.
What does point A tell you about Riverine wetlands ?
(paper has no A or markings whatsoever
Me: There is no A
Teach: Wrong answer, obviously you should be able to feel where A is by staring at the paper continuously

Other teach:Which legislature was abolished as a result of the massachusetts circular letter ?
4 states mentioned
Me; none because England only threatened to abolish the legislature
Teach: wrong. Its obviously B.
Me: but it says England threatened to abolish right in the official book
TEach: Next question?

Same teach:
Me: 9/13 states had to agree to pass a law
9/13 does not equal two thirds
Teach: scribbles equation on paper : hmmmmm
Me: well, uh, yes???
Teach: But its more than 3/4ths ismore than 2/3s right? So obviously the other answer is correct
Me: Excuse me? 5th grade math here ?
Come on…

Other teacher: should I make the whiteboard blue or red today…
Us: (debating this for 15 minutes)
My friend walks in 13 minutes late: did I miss anything
I: ( uncontrollable laughter) (pause) that was a trick question right?

The only challenging course I have ever taken in public school was geometry (7th grade). The teacher was among the best I’ve had, and she was a sadistically brutal grader.

AP Bio this year isn’t intellectually hard, but the amount of material is slightly daunting. We have to move really fast and I’m a tad worried about remembering all the vocab in time for the AP exam.

]](2/3)*13[[=9

Not sure I understand what your point was… your teacher didn’t believe you?

Advanced Geometry. Sucked.

My teacher was horrible, and it was last year while I was a freshman! We had three A’s in the class of 27, with ~15 B’s and the rest C’s or lower.

The first semester I was able to pull off a B+, but the teacher was too hard for me to maintain an A again in the second semester, so I ended up with a B second semester.

Had I gotten ANY of the four other teachers… one’s who taught the same thing (same worksheets, etc)… one’s who were available before school/after school… I most likely would have pulle off an A.

/End rant

:(( AP CAL AB, I’m a sucker in Math. Right now, I’m having only a B+ in that class >_>

Calculus BC, or Chemistry AP

IB Biology 2 HL

grade is composed of 4 tests throughout the year, and an A is curved to an 80% and yet very few still manage to get that A.

crazy difficult class
