Why is Cornell usually stereotyped as the easiest ivy to get into, but the hardest when you are in? Would you guys think that Cornell engineering is harder than that of Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, or UC Berkeley? Any thoughts on this would help...thanks.

it's not the hardest ivy. it just has the most whining.

haha (no sarcasm intended)

Lol.......

I heard the same exact thing! That's strange.

I would think that engineering is difficult at all of the schools mentioned as it is a difficult program of study. That said, those who choose to study engineering are generally those who excell in the skills and abilities engineering requires.

A stereotype is an oversimplified opinion so how accurate can it be? The "easiest ivy to get into" probably comes from acceptance rates. I think the "hardest to get out of" comes from the fact that grades are supposedly deflated compared to other ivys. Not sure how true this really is. And because Cornell is such a large diverse school, whatever is said about it won't be true for everyone there.

Engineering is not hard at all,; as long as you work there is nothing to worry about.
