I just started studying for the ACTs. I can finish math on time naturally, and it took me 2 practice tests to finish reading on time. However, for science I got 5 min over and for reading I go 10 minutes over lol. What do you all think?

Huh? Most people find Science the hardest to finish on time. I personally find Reading harder to finish on time even though I usually finish with about a minute left.

I would say Science would be the most time-consuming.

Science or reading depending on the test.

I meant it took me 2 practice tests to finally finish ENGLISH on time. and I go over time on reading by 10 minutes.

I finish English with about 15-20 minutes left. (33). I finish Math with about 10-15 minutes left. (30)<-bubbling error?. I finish Reading with about 5-10 minutes left. (30). Science, I had to guess on the last 3 or 4 with seconds back. (28). So obviously science is the hardest to finish for me. I plan to fix that, however.

When I took it, I finished reading (32) with like a second left, same with science (33). Math, I kind of spaced out for a while and didnt finish lol (33). And english I didn’t finish for some reason, just was too nervous at beginning (27). Essay I had to rush to finish (11).

In order from least amount of time to reasonable amount: Science, Reading, Math, English.

source: I’ve taken a couple of ACT practice tests and I took the real one once. So basically, what everyone else up there says.

I usually finish English with 10-15 minutes to spare (36), Math with 5 minutes to spare (34), Science with a couple of minutes to spare (31), and Reading with no time to spare (34).

Reading is definitely the hardest section for me to finish on time. I don’t know that I’ve ever had time left over on the reading section.

It’s worth remembering though that just because one section is the hardest to finish on time, it won’t necessarily mean that you’ll do the poorest on that same section. Reading is usually my hardest to finish on time but I can normally get 2-3 points higher than my Science score.

^^^ well that’s probably due to the harsh curve of the science section.

^Agreed. It’s what happened with me :)

I found Science and Math the most difficult to finish on time. I had a lot of time left for English and a solid amount for Reading.

I finish English with 10 to spare, Math with 15 to spare, Reading with 0 to spare, and Science with 2 to spare. Reading definitely…For science, it depends on how much I already know.

When I took the test, I finished English with 15 minutes to spare, Math with about 5 minutes to spare, reading with 0 to spare, and science with 2-3 to spare.

@nwgolfer- you scored the exact same scores as me! (33, 30, 30, 28) That’s awesome.

I finished English with about 20 minutes to spare (checked over answers twice, very disappointed with my 33.) I was working on the math section up until the end. It was weird- I finished like right when time was called. I finished reading with about 2 minutes to spare. I felt very rushed on this section. I finished Science with about 1 minute to spare. I guessed on a lot and was pleased with a 28. I will study before I take the test again and hopefully score a 33+ composite.

Math is the hardest one for me since I suck at standardized math tests. I usually finish everything else within time.

Science… by far.
