what if your high school offers very limited number of AP courses (just spanish, cal, english, and history)? do adcoms look into the type of courses offered at a particular high school or does it look bad that i only took four ap’s?

Colleges look at what your school offers.

I'd say you're pretty lucky, because your counselor will be able to write that you took 4/4 of the APs offered at your school.

Our kids were in a very similar situation - very few AP's offered - don't worry about it tho - when your info is sent from your high school - there is usually a school profile submitted also - which shows what is offered - and as long as you have challanged yourself with what is available to you - you will fine. This is taken into consideration by the colleges. There are many kids out there that have no AP's available, no IB's or anything - and are accepted to great school based on what they have accomplished thru what is offered to them in high school. You college applications will reflect you - and there are other considerations that will set you apart besides your high school transcript. Good luck to you.
