I really liked Harnwell---the dorm and one of its residential programs. What is the likelihood that I'll get housing as a freshman in CAS? I do know some people in it if it helps. Are there any negatives other than it being far from CAS classes?

I’m also wondering the same thing because the high rises really impressed me when I visited. What I’ve heard is that high rises for freshmen are in relatively low demand so getting a room there is likely (if you do the Fresh ex program).

Hey! I’m in CAS and I really liked Harwell tooo The only bad thing I heard about it is that there isn’t much of a community-like feel. If you’re more of a private person, then it’s for you. But i still prefer the high rises than the other dorms…the rest just seem too congested lol

Harnwell is great. Best location out of the high-rises too.
BUT I wouldn’t recommend it to freshmen as a first choice. Imo, you should try for the Quad, where most of your class will be living for the year. It makes the transition to university life much easier.

I only know of a couple freshmen who live in Harnwell. None of them hang out with each other - all of them have had to make friends outside of their college house.
