So I got into Harpur College of Arts and Sciences. I guess I did not get into SOM. But I am thinking of majoring in accounting. I know Harpur is not a business school. SO by going into Harpur, is this mean that I will have to stick with one of the majors in Harpur unless I transfer to SOM?

accounting is a major in SOM. if you are in harpur, you have to major in one of the subject areas in harpur. [Binghamton University - Academics: Harpur College of Arts and Sciences: Departments and Programs](http://www2.binghamton.edu/harpur/departments-programs/index.html)

it is possible to intra-university transfer from one school to another at binghamton, BUT it is VERY VERY hard to transfer into SOM. if you decide to go to harpur you should do so understanding that you may not be able to transfer to SOM. you could try contacting either admissions or SOM to ask just how difficult it might be to transfer for accounting.

Thanks iamhere. Are you a current SOM student? Do you know how hard it is to get into SOM?
