<p>Am considering applying for Harrington Foundation College Scholarship, which was recommended by FastWeb. Their website though, looks thin; anybody else think this is a phishing scam?</p>
<p>I was thinking of applying for it, and I also wondered about that, but the application looks pretty legitimate.</p>
<p>This is real. They are awesome, and very generous. My son won a National award last year.</p>

<p>yes I would also like to know how much your son got if you don't mind. The scholarship was somewhat ambiguous on the amount, I just remember around 10,000 total. They said this amount would be divided by all the awards I think...</p>
<p>I wonder how strict they are about that deadline? The earliest I can get my application in the mail is tomorrow afternoon at 2:15. They said that they won't accept applications received after 4/30. Oh well. </p>
<p>Anyway, I have the impression that it's $1000 for each prize winner. I think they mentioned seven state winners and three national winners.</p>

<p>FYI -- there is more than one "Harrington Foundation"</p>
<p>From the Harrington Foundation that had three scholarships open to candidates nationwide and seven to residents of each of seven states, my daughter just received one of the scholarships (one set aside for residents of our state). So they do exist.</p>
<p>There is another Harrington Foundation. I think they fund Michigan students, but I'm not sure about that.</p>
