Harry Potter architecture

William and Mary has some similarities including twisted trees, lakes, forests, carriages, haunted houses, a Great Hall, a Crypt, secret tunnels, and a triathlon to beat the triwizard tournament.

Yeah Harvard’s exterior doesn’t, but Annenberg Hall sure does. They didn’t let the public go in when I visited, though :(

Bryn Mawr College has some of the finest American Collegiate Gothic architecture to be found anywhere, probably because the style originated there at the hands of Philadelphia architects Cope and Stewardson in the period from 1890 to 1906, long before it took hold at places like Yale and Princeton. Take a look at the Bryn Mawr “roller coaster tour” (link to left):

The exclusive boarding school St Paul’s is said to have a dining room reminiscent of the cool one in HP movies.

I always thought Annenberg seemed more high Victorian than Gothic, at least from the outside.

Maybe Wellesley?

Miami is gorgeous, but it looks nothing like Harry Potter. Gothic is quite a bit different from Georgian!

bclintonk, Cope & Stewardson also were responsible for much of Penn’s architecture, which includes some of their largest projects (e.g., the Quad, the University Museum, the Towne Building, Leidy Labs, John Morgan Building, the Law School, etc.):

Wellesley’s Tower Court Complex is fairly Hogwarts-like. The living rooms have gothic paneling, fireplaces, Alice-in-Wonderland figures, gargoyles, and so forth. The main academic quad is also.

Yes, but they developed the American Collegiate Gothic style at Bryn Mawr first. IMO, the architecture at Penn is also far more eclectic. Bryn Mawr has a predominantly Collegiate Gothic theme.
