lol i watched the movies. does dat count? :)

I think VOLDEMORT will die, Hagrid will die and well maybe Harry, but that would be sad

I think they will all die slow painful deaths

lol... slow painful deaths

whoamg: that video was fun... thank god i didnt have ppl like that to spoil the surpise... and what a surprise it was!!

I think Harry and Voldemort will BOTH die in book 7...it's only fair that way.

Yeah I can't believe the next one is the last..."two characters will die", said Rowling. It better not be Harry, Ron, or Hermione. The end of the sixth book was depressing.

The books are painful to read, they're poorly written in my opinion (no offense to anyone)
But I think the plotline is good, so I still read them.
ahhhhh Ron or Hermione better not die =/
Harry can die. I don't like him.

lol why don't you like Harry? I guess he is a bit cumbersome and moody.

I'll miss Dumbledore in the book but not in the movies; the guy that plays him now is terrible.

hehe i dunno
i know the book is about harry potter, so that's why EVERYTHING is about him.
but seriously, i don't blame draco for hating him.
if i went to a school where someone got all the attention and special treatment from the teachers, i would be mad too!

the only way she can stop herself from being tempted to write another book is to kill Harry, but there's no way she would let Voldemort live...there's not a release date yet because she hasn't finished writing it

well supposedly at the end of the seventh book the last chapter will be a "follow-up" of everything that's happened to the characters.

so that should be enough to quench any temptations to continue the series.

i'm in love with neville.
i hope he doesn't die.
he's my hubby.

lol dun worri, ppl like neville don't die. they are comic relief :)

yay
NEVILLE
i'm glad he lost all his baby fat
and his buck teeth

Ok I have several comments.

To the person who started this thread: Yeahhhh! I commend you for daring to speak of anything but this "OMG I got a 2250 I'm screwewd for LIFE" talk.

To the person who said "Harry Potter is gay": I'm sure you're a fine person, but we cannot be friends. Ever.

To the person who said the books are painful to read: Nooo! Ok, so the writing is not Pulitzer quality. But JK Rowling has a gift for character portrayal and creativity that I have not seen in even the most acclaimed literature by all the dead white guys in AP English.

Basically, Harry Potter = life. Almost. I definitely recommend it to all on this board, as an escape from the ever-stressful world of college admission.

EDIT: Oh my god, I just watched that video. I would literally maim anybody who did that to me. I cannot even imagine.

HAHAHA I loved the video! That's great.
At some other place people actually made shirts that said: "Dumbledore dies on page 698" and walked around the bookstore lines.

harry potter is a good book...i am looking forward to read the next part...
however, it is not as great as people claim it to be... people who have never read more than 2-3 books claim it to be the greatest book ever written.... much of the credit for its popularity goes to its publicity and the sense of conformity people have...
it is a really enjoyable book. but i can't understand the obsession of some people...

lol yeah it's not an amazing work of literature--not beautifully written or thought-provoking or anything; it's just entertaining. it's easy to get caught up in it.

Yup, I totally agree with kraor & sailesh--and I love it!

I'm practically obsessed with the series and I read a lot so I wouldn't say that only people who have read a few books claim it is the greatest book ever. It's a matter of opinion and what you're looking for...I would say an extremely well written novel such as Jazz by Toni Morrison ranks above the Harry Potter series in quality of writing but the story of Jazz does not rank above Harry Potters story. Harry Potter is escapist literature (fiction if youre someone who must distinguish fiction from literature). Jazz is titled for its writing style- the narrative shifts, juts, and flows- the book's story has little to do with Jazz. I love the fantasy world of Harry Potter and the story is appealing. The premise of Jazz: a man who cheats on his wife with a young girl kills the girl, then the wife tries to cut the dead girl's face at her funeral. Jazz has some of the greatest writing ever produced but not the best story and Harry Potter has the most appealing story to me but not the greatest writing. It's all subjective.
