Hartt vs Montclair (BFA Actor Studies)

Hi all!

I've been accepted into two amazing BFA Acting programs at both Hartt and Montclair. I've visited both as well as done my own research, but I was just wondering if someone could provide me with their own insight regarding these two schools. I'm not basing my decision solely off of this thread, but I just want to hear some opinions and views. :)

Congratulations!! Those are wonderful programs! My D is at Hartt and could not be happier. It’s very intense training, a really close family feel (11 freshman acting majors and I think 20 MT), lots of productions, the faculty is amazing. West Hartford is a great town, the school is affiliated with Hartford Stage which is a terrific company, and Monomoy Theatre which is great summer stock on Cape Cod.

Hopefully someone can tell you more about Montclair-- we visited and couldn’t get a good sense of the place but I’ve heard people speak highly of it. If I were you I’d try to do accepted student visits at both schools, attend classes, meet the students and faculty, and see which feels best to you.
