Harvard 2+2 - Community College Background

Hello everybody,

I am attending UC Berkeley and I am planning on applying to the Harvard 2+2 Program this semester. I am an engineering major and I am doing reasonable well here. One thing I am worried about is that I transferred from a Community College (I did not graduate High School for various reasons) and that Harvard will look down on that. I have only spent 2 semesters at Berkeley, but my GPA is > 3.8 with almost only engineering courses.

Does anybody have thoughts on this or maybe even experience (e.g. someone who got accepted to 2+2 with CC background)?

Thank you very much!

Oh, also, I am an international student if that changes anything.

No, I don’t think it will hurt your app at all. Actually, it may even help you. HBS loves stories. And a story about overcoming the stigma of being a CC student and making it to a school like UC Berk – and doing well there – is compelling. You should be in good shape.
