<p>Update: I don't think I'll be applying early...which stinks since chances of getting in are so much better early :( (with tears)....I just had a catastrophe on a couple of SAT IIs...hopefully it'll give me more time to enhance my ECs...for now Harvard is pretty much in my dreams....</p>

<p>before you thumb your nose at my puny stats, you should know that my school is absolutely queer. it's a teeny islamic private school, with around 35 high school students, so they don't offer any other ECs or APs. i spend a lot of time doing little things for the school, like when i subbed for bio when my teacher was gone for two weeks. anyone know what my chances are? any suggestions?</p>

<p>Usually, the rule of thumb is to apply early to a competitive college if you want to go there. This rule does not preclude Harvard. If you really do want to go, by all means apply EA. If you do not know if you truly want to go, then see if you wish to apply EA to Harvard (since if you do get in you can go somewhere else), apply ED to another competitive school (since ED schools overall accept more students than EA), or apply EA to another school. It's all your choice, and of course, it is a game, as the book, "The Early Admissions Game" states. As Byerly said, I really recommend all of you read the book. It is extremely insightful and can really help you make an informed decision for where you will apply early.</p>
