@KB24yo: Didnt you think that the publisher will steal it from you? (no, seriously)

Great thought, belly.

KB24yo: how did you trust the publisher so much? It seems so easy to steal the story that way. Nonetheless, congrats on accomplishing so much! :)

BTW, how was that little beatdown last night! Birdman rules!!!
Tell PJ to force Kobe to give Gasol the ball 10-15 more times a game; it’s in you guys’ best interest!

No he’s a family friend so if he did end up stealing it from me then we’d have some big problems

@ big dreamer: birdman sucks so bad. i hate that guy. no worries. LA will dominate tomorrow night. And the Magic are about to beat down the Cavs

Thanks for clarifying the publisher situation! ;)

@KB24yo: I’m sure LA will win, but it’s been a fun series. Birdman is so funny, I think he’s flat-out hilarious! LBJ’s turnovers tonight are sheerly inexcuseable; he can’t throw the rock away like 7 times in 4th qtr. and OT. He had help tonight, just bad team defense. Plus, he’s got to finish better than that; maybe some extra rest will help him out. I think I’m correct in saying this:

LBJ: best player on planet
KB24: most clutch player on planet (I know you disagree with this !LOL) ;)

whoa whoa …

not today buddy not today

if that was kobe shooting, he would’ve made that shot and the Cavs would’ve won

KB24>LBJ23 … maybe in a few years but right now na na nope

RINGS : 3 - 0 (idc who’s on their team, they still won)

You mean to tell me that Kobe would have made a contested 35 ft. running jumper as time expired after playing 29 straight minutes? I’ve played that long straight in a game before, and it’s not as easy as you think. I had to expel a TON of energy holding the fort down on D, then having to handle the rock the entire game and explode to the rim was fairly challenging (at least I won in the end…).

Kobe can barely stand up after like 40 minutes in Denver, and LBJ is simply overhandling; at least LA has Kobe curling off screens to compensate for him LOSING a step/ DOESN’T have the sheer explosiveness to free himself.

I said Kobe was MOST clutch player alive, but I gaurantee that 90% of the teams in the world would rather have LBJ than Kobe on their team. Trust me, I’m big on Kobe, but he’s a baby during the games. He should have 10 Ts by now because he constantly yells at refs. Even CP3 or Superman would get Ts in that situation (like after Jones tripped him).

Kobe will get his precious ring this year to cap his HOF career and prove that he “can win w/o Shaq.” That’s best for the league in Stern’s eyes and it will happen. Seriously, once LBJ fixes his jumper over the summer, what’s Kobe got on him? 3 rings with the most dominant center in the modern era? Give LBJ Tim Duncan, KG, or even Pau and you have a sure-fire title contender.

LBJ has won me over because he’s likable off the court, but I guess I look at it in a player’s/coach’s/GM’s perspective LOL ;)!!!

Kobe is def more clutch (this year) but he’s not entirely a whole level above LBJ. When Lakers stunk after Shaq left, did Kobe make it to the Finals by himself? No, that’s what LBJ did his 3rd year in the league!!!

This is a great conversation, and I hope that we keep talking like this in the future! Maybe you should write an elaborate essay on how to define leadership and unstoppable in the NBA for your admissions essay; much different from a typical Asian’s application!

BTW, have you seen Nike’s new marketing campaign? I find that they’re pretty funny with the whole LBJ vs. KB24 thing. Sorry to go all NBA on your chance thread, but I had to vent after the loss tonight! ;)

Before I explode, I’m going to take a few deep breaths to recollect myself and respond in a professional manner

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR **@&)!# MIND?

Who cares if Kobe is tired or not, regardless, he makes the big shots. Remember that 3 in the face of JR Smith? And yes, I do believe that Kobe would’ve made that shot.

And slow down there buddy. Kobe is NOT a big baby. Are you kidding? Even after Jones trips him, Kobe was able to recollect himself and respond in a mature manner. He KNOWS that if he gets 2 more Ts then he’ll be suspended. Kobe isn’t stupid. He doesn’t complain to the refs. If he complains too much, then obviously the refs would hit him with a T so he sticks to shutting everyone up with his game.

Pau Gasol to Kobe is like Mo Wiliams and Z to LeBron James.

LBJ is never going to have a solid consistent 3 and jump shot.

Sigh, these haters. The Black Mamba is gonnna bring it home this year and LBJ is about to get knocked the *@!# out of the playoffs by Mr. Superman

Dude, I didn’t mean to get you worked up! I even said, “I know you’ll disagree with this ;)”

I saw Kobe tear a ref apart after that incident (he picks his spots after timeouts), the NBA took away a T to protect him already (I know that this happened, the league is rigged but I still watch it), and he deserved a Flagrant 2 for purposefully elbowing Artest in the throat (I know that was last round).

I can’t believe that you don’t see the “star” treatment he gets when it comes to complaining; Lebron gets calls too, but he doesn’t make a scene. Last time I really saw LBJ lose his cool was last year in the playoffs; he’s much more calm than Kobe outside of clutch situations.

Also, not to seem bombastic, but I think that you missed the part when I said Kobe was most clutch like 3 times in my last post (I whole-heartedly agree with you on this one if you haven’t noticed it). Yes, I agreed on another psot that his shot over JR was sick, but he WOULD NOT have made that shot tonight without a huge help from Lady Luck. No way, not even the great Mamba could hit that tough of a shot after that exhaustion.

Kobe’s FG% is suffering because he’s getting tired and doesn’t make all big shots. In fact, Gasol really won Game 3 because he was huge in the last two minutes (helped free Kobe by doing this). Plus, he’s trying to keep up with LBJ’s scoring numbers, hence he has shot 58 MORE times than Gasol! Pau’s no Shaq, but he can ball on some of the Nuggets’ bigs (he’s better than Z, Varajao, Joe Smith, or Darnell Jackson).

LBJ’s shot has improved over the past few years and he’ll grow in this area. Remember, LBJ is really 275 lbs (no matter what they list him at; listings are skewed) and Kobe is only 220 lbs. This gives Koe a much smoother release on his jumper, which is why he’s a better scorer. LBJ will most likely never have Mamba’s touch, but Kobe never could drive or pass as well as LBJ. He does have good passing skilss, but LBJ is better than him right now at this one area.

Dude, I defended Kobe through all the controversey in Colorado years back, said he wasn’t totally to blame for the Lakers getting broken up (after Shaq), and stuck up for him last year when the Cs beat them down. I like Kobe, but I respect LeBron more right now because I like him more as a person. You missed the part when I said, “I’m HUGE on Kobe.” Also, I said that Kobe was going to win it all this year like 6-7 times.

I will not deny Kobe’s calmness in the clutch, but you have to at least be in a position to win the game at the end, and if Mamba’s outta gas, he’ll miss! Relax my friend, and I think that you may have gone overboard on this topic because I was having good fun and you flipped!

Chill dude, school’s almost out, good luck on exams, and best wishes when it comes to applying for college! :)

Hahaha naw I was just playing around. I tend to act like I’m mad sometimes. Guess it works :)

LAL 09 CHAMPS

Well if anyone has any ADVICE ON HARVARD haha that’d be nice :P

Good, I thought that I just ticked somebody off when I really wasn’t trying to!

To tell you the truth about Harvard, you look like a strong applicant (I know I’ve said this already). In fact, you look good for Columbia, Harvard, UPenn, Brown, and if I missed another Ivy you’re looking at, my bad. Your ECs are simply that good, and will compensate for your GPA (although you have a LEGIT excuse about 2 Cs).

You are quite creative and if you let this glimmer in your essays, you have an excellent chance. Remember, you can ahve a beastly topic, but a bad writing style can destroy your chances. The same way having a dull topic can be glamorous if you handle it correctly.

You’re one of the more qualified people’s apps I’ve read on CC. BTW, what happened with that C you got this past semester? I hope that you raised it/have an excuse for it! Best Wishes!!! :)

Focus on your grades. Your music talents are obviously outstanding, but I know people with the same musical talent and decent grades that got rejected from these top schools. Well they ended up going to NYU and Northwestern, not terrible, but not their goals.

There really isn’t much I can do much now right? Would you recommend me applying to RD to allow my senior grades to raise my GPA ?

都是中国人吧~~呵呵

hahahahahahahahahaha

i’m actually taiwanese :P

Doesn’t Harvard only have RD now, or am I wrong?

You are correct.

welcome to the NBA finals my lakers!

how come Harvard doesn’t have ED?

Harvard terminated ED because they wanted all applicants to have the same chance of admission. This was a way to diversify the population (again) because it encourages others to join the juggernaut know as Harvard’s applicant pool. It hampered legacies and whatnot so Harvard would not be full of the same type of people for eternity. Granted, Harvard still admits the strereotypical “do-gooder who is amazing,” but this gave a better chance to URMs and underpriveleged folk who would not normally apply to Harvard. Princeton, UVA, and some others have followed suit. I may be wrong on some points, but that’s just what I remember off the top of my head. BTW, I hope that nobody finds my post discriminatory, elitist, or provocative because that is sheerly what I just though of…correct me if I’m wrong, please! ;)

@KB24yo: Congrats on your Lakers! I knew they would make the Finals (and most likely will win). Good luck vs. Magic, unless LBJ puts in the most historic comeback in NBA history over the next few days. I hope that LBJ is superhuman in GM 6, and follow that up in GM 7 (most likely won’t happen).
