Summer. July, I think…

^ July 1. Harvard also uses the Common Application.

helen, where are you from?
If I’m not mistaken, you are an international? =D

Yes I am an international student:)

why?

Wow, how many internationals are in this thread?

(I’m international too, by the way)

Many I suppose!!:D

You applying too as well!!Great!!Good luck!!:D

Good luck everybody! Big H, here we come! (well, 35K of us think that lol).

Hi fellow internationals!
There’s an icky question though: Is Harvard need-blind for internationals?? :)

^ Yes, it is, which is why it attracts such a large population of international applicants relative to most other U.S. colleges.

Wow!Hello, to everyone!I’m an International Student too…

When are the application form’s available…??Because I saw that common applications this year are available on 1st August.

Thank you:D

^ I believe the Common App actually opens on July 1.

sorry, about to break bad news:

Apparently, Harvard is not 100% need-blind for internationals. I heard that from reliable sources (I hope). It is therefore harder for international applicants who need FA like me. So, I won’t be applying for FA, which may give me an edge.

However, if I’m by any chance accepted, I’ll do my best in freshman year. Maybe if my grades are decent, and my financial condition is not fulfilling, I can get a scholarship for my sophomore year :3

^ Oh… maybe that 100% need-blind rule only applies to Canadian citizens (which includes myself). I definitely recall reading on the Harvard website that Canadians are considered along with Americans when it comes to FA… not sure about other nationalities though.

Such as? It’ll take more to convince me.

Not from Harvard, though, right? Since they don’t have merit-based scholarships.

@MonochromeAddict: That’s interesting! The last time I checked, however,

“So, I won’t be applying for FA, which may give me an edge.”

Harvard is need blind for internationals, at least officially that is. Sorry to break the bad news :(.

I think Harvard just recently went need blind for internationals.

^I think it was about ten years ago.

@fledgling

I saw this here: https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/news.aspx#32

That’s why I’m asking:)

Ten years is a minuscule amount of time. The Earth’s been around for 4.54 billion years. That’s only 2.2026431718061674008810572687225e-7% of that time.
