<p>All I can say for right now is fill in your application carefully and please, for god’s sake, be yourself. Don’t let your happiness be judged by getting into Harvard. Anyways, I can’t wait!</p>

<p>I don’t think so…looking at the official decisions forum from last year you got a good idea of who gets in and who doesn’t. But then again, there are always Chinese Males with 2400, 36, 4.0, #1 out of 950, USAMO, USACO, and everything you could possibly want who get rejected.</p>

<p>How important do you guys think the writing portion of the sat/act is?</p>
<p>My ACT composite score is a 32 (33 superscored, but who knows if Harvard superscores the ACT) with a 12 on my essay both times. Hopefully my writing score will carry as much weight as the other sections!</p>

<p>Everyone says the whole process is random but I don’t think that’s the case. Everything makes sense. 2400 and awards don’t mean anything without personality and passion, and enthusiam alone is not enough for schools like Harvard.
But then again, there are the lucky few like my friend who is a typical asian student with 2300 SAT, captain of math and science teams, plays violin, and is completely “normal” in everyway and got into Yale. (Yale was the only school he got into, though.)</p>
