Who else, like me, was deferred? Let’s talk chances, how to strengthen our apps, etc. Keep it positive!
I wish they’d just rejected me. I want to go to Nevada-Reno but my family is making me apply to top schools and will force me to go if I get in. I don’t know that the high stress environment is the right place for me. I’m more of a free flowing kind of person.
@ski_racer Amen. Harvard would’ve been nice, but I am now looking toward more realistic options, such as UVA or something else.
Harvard is my dream school and I got deferred Sucks, kinda wish I was just rejected
gang gang. how many other schools are you guys gonna apply to after this?
I expected deferral, my next decision is Cambridge on Jan 10th. Now I have to do all of the other supplements though X_X
Well i guess my account name needs to be changed
Do they accept white kids who don’t have legacy? lol
@Harvard2022maybe I’m down after thursday
@Harvard2022maybe Hey, there’s no need for suicide. There are plenty of great schools out there that are not Harvard. I am a believer in fate. We all find our place.
You are amazing and wonderful, and I believe in you. And I am not saying this just because ‘oh, she’s just trying to be cliche and nice and skim over this.’ Believe me, I am just as disappointed as you are. But I think you- and all of us that got deferred - have that potential. If Harvard doesn’t want us, too bad then. We make our mark elsewhere.
@ShadowSaber why not now?
@bundawg I’ve done 5 already since the deadline was before today, and I plan on applying to 10 more
It’s quite heartbreaking to be deferred, but we have to keep persevering Harvard is my dream school too…I literally spent the past hour crying, but you know what…I take this as a chance for me to fall in love with other schools too We’re all very strong candidates, so please do not let this upset you for too long. Let’s get through the next few months together!
I’m applying to 7 schools total and have been accepted to 2 and deferred from 1. I might throw a few more in there if I have time, but I’m not really seeing the point right now.
ah feels bad to be deferred, but gotta take it with a good attitude. Not to be cocky or anything but really I sorta see it as Harvard’s loss, missing out on me. I know I’m gonna do great wherever I go—twenty years from now they’ll wish they could put me on the notable alumni page! I’m just gonna use it as motivation.
@Harvard2022maybe I don’t even know why I’m in this thread, just waiting for my 60% deferral rate from Yale in 2 days >.< and trying to avoid stress (unsuccessfully).
Already submitted my application to like 8 other universities (Yale, Princeton, Caltech, UPenn, UChicago, Columbia, Stanford and MIT)… To be honest, I’m rather disappointed about being deferred, but that’s life…
Realistically I knew this was the most likely result, but I was so looking forward to being done with everything. Now I have to work on my supplements for American and GW
Honestly, I’m kind of annoyed right now. I wasn’t expecting acceptance but still… time to go work on 30 other apps
@mimkop1 I agree. It seems kind of cruel. Maybe Harvard should take lessons from Stanford on how to get their deferral rate down.
