Harvard 2024 Waitlist Thread

I called Harvard today to make sure they received one of my materials, and the person I spoke to said that hopefully we should know by the end of June.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Are we expecting calls today?

@visreedhar I think we were hoping for calls today  Nothing yet for us here in CA. Anyone else?

No portal changes, no email, no phone call yet- CA!

Nothing here either - Paris, France

I think the schools are adding to the chaos of this year by extending deadlines. I think students should decide and not hold up everyone else.

When is the deadline for incoming freshmen to decide on a gap year?

At least we have like 1 more week to go before all of this waiting ends!

would it be worth it to send another update at this point? I have some updates but have already sent 2 update letters.

@waitlistedsenior I would send it in. It may not help at this point, but I don’t think it will hurt. Also, Harvard admissions is closed today in honor of Juneteenth.

If Harvard is going to be 100% online, why not admit everyone from the waitlist?

I wouldn’t be opposed to this

If you are sending in update letters/messages, are you emailing them to the admissions office or just uploading them to the “Waitlist Additional Materials” option on the student portal?

I wouldn’t send any more updates. I know it’s hard to wait.

I think the final round of acceptances and rejections will be this week. It’ll be interesting to see if Harvard will Z-List heavily this year.

@waitlistedsenior it seems that there was only one round of acceptances at the end of May. At least from previous posts, not many got off the waitlist. Does anyone have an idea of how many are still waitlisted? It looks like there was a vast amount of rejections during the first round. Also, many posters believe that the significant amount of movement from the waitlist will occur at the end of June (when gap year requests are due from incoming Freshmen).

@Mommabear1 Don’t have an idea but I hope what you are saying is true

My graduation was like two days ago, so I am sending an update (cuz why not) on the stuff I received. Doing it on the portal

@royalorangutan

I think that sending typical high school graduation awards via the portal would be potentially annoying, honestly. I think being careful about only sending updates that are absolutely justified in terms of significance, is wise.
