For those of ou who missed it, this was on last night’s SNL. Jimmy Fallon resurrected his old character with former SNL comedienne Rachel Dratch on a Harvard tour. Won’t spoil the rest. Here is the link . Was a welcome laugh at the process. https://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/television/2017/04/16/snl-returns-its-slightly-older-boston-teens/pHa7gZ3wtZESBQvpkccSfI/story.html
They confused the cost of tuition with the full cost of attendance, but probably only cc’ers and other Harvard applicants/students/alum would notice.
I noticed, and figured they would get great FA…but I’m a CCer
Thanks for sharing it - that was fun.
Hurlbut sealed the deal, but likely Wigglesworth and Pennypacker would have worked, too.
They could have had fun with Mower too.
I hope this doesn’t make people think they cannot attend Harvard if they are low income.
I tried so hard to laugh.
I couldn’t.
The recreation of the old characters by 2 former SNL cast members made it enjoyable. Us oldie goldies who remember the original skits (1999-2011) .
That skit made me think that there must be a Harvard alum on the SNL writing staff.
Wouldn’t be surprised. Remember, Conan O’Brien started out as a writer/producer for the Simpsons.
The writing staff on these shows are almost always Ivy leaguers. Even on TMZ, a lot of the on air staff who seem like idiots are actually Ivy grads.
As Sully said, “Copy that.”
They need a keen discerning eye and quick thinking to recognize people well known and B-listers hiding under hats and dark glasses with no makeup and ask them fringe-y questions about some trivia about the artist none of us would know.
"That skit made me think that there must be a Harvard alum on the SNL writing staff. "
Colin Jost was president of Harvard Lampoon.
There have been lots of Lampoon alumni who worked as writers on SNL.
