Harvard Acceptees Have Common Traits

I've been noticing that people who get into harvard are the pro-active, community-organization types. Like those who are into international affairs, or fundraise for major events. Any other positive harvard traits that you noticed?

Nice try, but no. Lots of people like that get into Harvard, and lots of people who couldn’t organize a community if it consisted of one person other than themselves also get into Harvard.

Traits that people who get into Harvard have: good grades in high school, relatively high test scores (within a broad range), passionate, engaged lives, their teachers and their peers admire them, they are the best at SOMETHING in their community. Of course, plenty of people who are rejected by Harvard also have those traits. So add: luck, or sometimes some sort of definitive hook (real, verifiable national accomplishment, being at the top of the football coach’s recruitment list, grandpa is aaaaaallllllmost ready to commit to funding that new lab but he still needs a little push).

Lol, but I do agree with JHS. There’s no particular thing that Harvard is looking for, although the type of leadership you’re describing does look favorable.

They enjoy learning and have the confidence and assertiveness to follow their own passions and to create opportunities for themselves and others.

I know a girl who tried to do all these “gigs” just to harvard: Rotary club, international conference, fundraising… not because she was passionate but she wanted to look desirable. She is currently attending Harvard this year. Anyway JHS, I hope you are right, because not everyone is what I described.

JHS:

Also, what do you think that “SOMETHING” is? Just curious to hear your opinion…

One common trait is a spassion for froyo particularly Berryline. :)

A generally high fitness level. Obesity is rare among the student body.

LOL haha
