<p>My guess is that you need to take the SAT II writing if you took the old SAT I. Call the admissions office if you have any questions.</p>
<p>They never required the SAT II Writing in the first place, so I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the answer to your question (thread title) was a yes.</p>
