So today in school, I found out that this one senior got accepted into Harvard. But here is the thing. Last year ( towards the end of the year ), while working on our college essay workshop, he practically cursed out Harvard and explained that San Diego State is the best school. And today, he brought his acceptance letter to show us that HE GOT IN. Let me say it again. This guy cursed our Harvard, and said how terrible they are at sports, and got in. Now if you are wondering if he "smart" or something like that, all I can tell you is that he made 2nd honors, which is having a minimum of a 3.4-3.6 gpa. He does not take ANY ap class. And no, he didn't get recruited or received a scholarship. Harvard admissions is a joke. People work that butts off to try to get into an Ivy school, and this idiot gets accepted.

So is Harvard supposed to get magically notified every time someone curses them out? I curse out Harvard pretty bad when I see cockroaches in the dorms…I hope they don’t expel me!

There must be a reason he got in:

1) URM?

2) some special talent you don’t know about

3) his father/mother donated $50 million to the school

After all, their acceptance rate is less than 10%.

San Diego State is the best school, no hating please. And the fact that this guy went back to high school to update you on his acceptance status shows tremendous dedication. Or he’s a senior and just found out he got in, which is even more impressive! Now, aren’t you just jealous.

You never know!

Is his high school grad year 2011 or 2012? If 2011/2015 they’ve started classes at Harvard. If 2012, it’s way too early to have an admissions letter.

I smell ■■■■■ post.

To the OP – if it makes you feel any better, my inside the wall sources tell me that this is the first unappreciative, undeserving d-bag to get accepted in the last 17 years. Admissions is only a nearly perfect process. Take solace in knowing that the likes of this guy won’t get in again until the classes of 2025-2032. I know, small consolation…

Listen, I do not care if you guys believe me or not. Obviously it may be hard to believe this but it is the truth. He tried to be funny and he got accepted. Believe or not, it is the truth.

Speed: look at post #5. If he is currently a senior, he has not been admitted yet. Ivies do not admit in August. Ivies with Early programs admit in December: all Regular admits occur in early April. Period. (the only exception that I’m aware of are Likely Letters sent to Junior Lacrosse players. Seniors get Likely Letters too. But these are not officially “acceptances” – only promises by the college)

If he was admitted last April and graduated last year, he’d be at Cambridge right now. Please let us know what you discover. All is not as it seems. He may be trying to pull one over on you. If so, you can smash his charade. Give us the juicy details!

And Likely Letters are not issued until October, so that is not even a possiblity yet.

Oh, I see. I thought that was your ■■■■■■■■ attempt: trying to be funny, but in truth had a lame sense of humor.

harvard looks for the kind of people who something only adcoms are aware of

and you’re a ■■■■■

the second is more likely

It is definitely not a REAL admissions letter. As stated above, Ivy acceptances are announced in December for EA/ED and April for RD, NO EXCEPTIONS. Letters of likely admissions, know as Likely Letters, may not be sent, according to Ivy League rules, until October 1st. If you are not a ■■■■■ OP, this kid is trying to pull a fast one on you. Research it yourself if you do not believe the adults here who have firsthand experience with ivy League admissions.
