Harvard admissions

I would like to take a medicine course at Harvard or an ivy league school. I was wondering if it could help the odds of I entering a prestigious school like Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc...
I would also like if you guys could tell me or put a link down in the comment section of the summer programs there are for medicine.

Thank you

Med school courses are for med students only, you won’t be able to take one at H or anywhere else.

Please note that CC has a Summer Programs forum and a PreMed Topics forum.

Sorry, I meant pre-med

My understanding of your question is that if you take a summer course at a program offered at Harvard or another prestigious university would it help your chances of admissions at Harvard.

If only it were this easy. Generally the answer is no.

Do something that you love during the summer, and do it well and with passion. That may help.

Addressing the idea of taking premed coursework (or any college classes) at H/Ivy/highly selective college/anywhere over the summer during HS: you need to understand something about medical school admissions–EVERY college class you take, even during HS, is calculated into your gpa. And along with MCAT score, your gpa is one of the most important factors in med school admissions.

You’re a HS fr, you need to slow down. You need to stop asking questions for awhile and instead read. Read the sticky threads at the tops of forums. Use the Search function and read current and past threads about testing, school selection and the admissions process. And finally, don’t even think about premed in HS, wait until you get to college for that.

I agree with previous posters.
In addition, do more to investigate and demonstrate that you have a genuine interest in medicine by volunteering, job shadowing etc.
Some colleges have summer programs for HS students to help them explore medicine as a career. This might benefit you intellectually and perhaps lead you to conclude medicine is not for you. Or it could confirm your assumptions. These programs are expensive, but might be worth doing if you can afford it. Will it get you a leg up in admissions? NO.
