Harvard Admitted Students Weekend = free?!

Btw passion, you don’t like my PM?;)

Only if I get in (obviously), since my parents insist that Yale’s surroundings are ghetto lol. My parents and I haven’t been there, but we’re definitely going to Bulldog Days…

Just got a likely from YALE!!! Holy ***** I have no idea what I’m going to do…

^Could you post/PM your stats?

^^You’ve got to be kidding. Two likelies from the most selective Ivies? That’s unheard of! (for me, anyways)
Congratulations!
I second the PM/post stats, but seeing as they said that they were really impressed with your personal characteristics and interview, I’m more interested in knowing what exactly you wrote about/talked about in the interview, and what ‘personal ch.’ might they have been talking about. If you can/feel like it, of course

I don’t mean this to sound rude (in fact it’s sort of sarcastic), but if you’re complaining about not knowing whether to choose Harvard or Yale I swear I’ll…

^^^ *in Christian Bale voice * ohhhhhh gooooood for you

^ hahaha

Yeah, post some stats, I like you because you seem to be nice but I frankly feel ■■■■■■■.

@homer314–while it pains me to deny your challenge, I’m sorry to say that I don’t feel comfortable revealing many more details over the internet. What I’ve provided is a nice summary, but I will share a bit more about my essays. (The people at Yale said they were excellent, so if that’s not justification then I don’t know what is.)

For the main commonapp one, I wrote about my experiences in Germany. I stayed in a really small town over the summer, and adored it, so that’s why I wrote about it. I didn’t write about German-American relations or anything remotely erudite in order to sound intelligent. Rather, I wrote around 500 words about my host-brothers and I playing games. Sure, I added some stylistic details and made it pretty profound towards the end by generalizing how my relationship to them was hindered and aided by our cultural differences, but it was largely not designed to “impress” smart people.

My supplement was my favorite. I wrote about my family’s farm and what that means to me. About how I used to hate it, but now appreciate it for the roots it gave me (sense an analogy… )

So, I think my essays worked so well because they were 1). extremely sincere 2). not trying to impress anyone 3). not common topics 4). quite literally, not one other person could have written them.

Passion, not sure why posting stats would infringe on your privacy. If privacy is violated by posting stats, then why would all of the Harvard accepted students fill the stats threads stickied at the top of the forum?

I hope you go to the school of your choice, regardless of whether you’re a sincere student or yet another sincere guy spending endless hours creating a trollage persona.
