I have the full name of a recent alum of the college that I would like to email, I just do not know the system of harvard's alumni email. is it firstname.middleinitial.lastname at fas.alumni.harvard.edu?</p>

However, it's not necessarily firstname.middleinitial.lastname, which means it'll be trickier to figure out.</p>
<p>It's generally in the format of:</p>
<p><a href="mailto:lastname@post.harvard.edu">lastname@post.harvard.edu</a>- if the person has a common last name, then it could be followed with a number
<a href="mailto:firstinitiallastname@post.harvard.edu">firstinitiallastname@post.harvard.edu</a>- this one is pretty common
<a href="mailto:firstinitialpartoflastname@post.harvard.edu">firstinitialpartoflastname@post.harvard.edu</a> -if the last name is long, then it may be partially cut off.</p>
<p>So, say the alums name is Ashley Cooper. Her email could be: </p>
<p><a href="mailto:cooper6@post.harvard.edu">cooper6@post.harvard.edu</a>
<a href="mailto:acooper@post.harvard.edu">acooper@post.harvard.edu</a>
<a href="mailto:acoop@post.harvard.edu">acoop@post.harvard.edu</a></p>
<p>those are the three most common forms I have seen, but there could be more variations. I hope that helped.</p>
<p>Well, remember that for post.harvard, you can actually choose your own handle as long as it has some form of your name in it. So for one of my friends who is an 06 alum, he has just his first name at post, since he has an unusual first name. others have a shortened form of their first name (e.g., Jennifer is Jen, etc.)</p>
<p>So yeah.. post.harvard is definitely trickier than fas.harvard.</p>

<p>I believe the only people that can search the post.harvard.edu directory (at <a href=“http://post.harvard.edu/[/url]”>http://post.harvard.edu/</a>) are people that themselves have a post.harvard.edu address. There is a directory in the members section there, but unless you know another graduate that can search for you, I doubt you’ll be able to find it.</p>
