Harvard Alumni Interview-Please Help!!

On Sunday I will have my Harvard alumni interview. This was set up last night. I am kind of freaking out because it is my first interview and because of the short notice I didn't have the chance to do a practice interview with a counselor. I am mostly unsure as to what sort of questions I should prepare for my interviewer-I am applying to Harvard College, and he only went to Harvard Business School. Also I am unsure what I (girl) am supposed to where (we're meeting in a restaurant). Advice anyone?

KCB - This answer is from my daughter who’s a Harvard senior - she spoke and I transcribed:

"Your overall goal should be to have a conversation - not to just talk about yourself. Bring a short resume or other handout so that you don’t have to recite the boring stuff that would replicate your application (e.g. “My SATs are this or that”).

"Be prepared and open to talk about the way that you go after your goals. I was always told in the process that Harvard wants to admit real people - folks who don’t just have it on paper - that’s what you want to use your time to emphasize. Plan to ask questions of your own. If there’s one question for which you’ll want to prepare it’s why you’re interested in Harvard. Have specific ideas about what makes you a good candidate or
stories about your personal journey of deciding to apply there.

“Have fun and remember that a bad interview doesn’t count against you much - anyone can have a meeting that doesn’t click and it’s no reason to rule out a candidate - but a good one could be helpful. That should help lower your stress. Dress should be business casual; you can check suggestions online as to what might constitute that.”

Also, post this question on the Harvard board. There are a lot of H students who are regulars there and you’ll get more feedback.

thank you :)
