Harvard and all of the other colleges think Asians are suppose to be smart?

I don't get it, why are the term "Asian" automatically make the admission officers go "oh, an Asian, okay. Let's see...hmm... SAT score of 2400...GPA 5.0... typical. Five thousand other accomplishments...okay. Fifty thousands of community service hours...Oh, hit national news and internation few times too...Great. But this Asian is still not good enough compare to the other Asians that applied...they've all done sixty thousands community service and hit universal news.." and checked the box "NO" for this Asian's admission....

Really not fair or is it just because I am missing a point? Sorry, help please... =="

You’re missing the point.

Yes you are definitely missing the point.

^ Agreed… and what you’re saying is far too exaggerated. I know Asians are at a disadvantage and all (I’m included in that, so I definitely understand) but in the end I think all that matters is that you use what you’ve been given, regardless of which college you go to. There are so many deserving students in the world and obviously Harvard can’t accept all of them. Asians included.

Depends what school you go to. The kids at my school all go on to top colleges, regardless of race. I guess it’s just the opportunities we have.

Another “Oh woe is me! I’m Asian” thread? This must be vying with

2) What’s the difference btn EA and ED
3) I sent my application in 6 seconds too late. Am I doomed?
4) Chance me and I’ll chance you back (since you’ll surely trust my judgment, since it’s clear I can’t judge myself)

BTW:I’m Asian my scores that got me into an HYP was around the 30th percentile. Hmmmm… whaddya think of that?

I think you’re 6’11" with an incredible jump hook.

We all have things that people and college admissions officers just assume. Get over it that’s life. If you don’t get over it now you’re going to have a hard time finding a job when you graduate.

1) Will I get rescinded because of this…

No, but to think that you would be foolish and reckless enough to do “that” makes me question not only your judgment but also that of the admission officers who had admitted you. You are a sham–congratulations on having fooled the gatekeepers.

2) What’s the difference btn EA and ED

The former is not binding, the latter is.

3) I sent my application in 6 seconds too late. Am I doomed?

No, but you are doomed for reasons that are too many to list here. Among them, though, is applying too late in the admission cycle.

4) Chance me and I’ll chance you back (since you’ll surely trust my judgment, since it’s clear I can’t judge myself)

Boring. Hope you shine in your essays.

**BTW:I’m Asian my scores that got me into an HYP was around the 30th percentile. Hmmmm… whaddya think of that? **

Shameless. Are you Southeast Asian?

Can someone please elaborate at what the “point” exactly is? You can’t possibly mean people are born hard-workers, can you? I’m not Asian, but I think this whole negativity toward them is BS. IMO, colleges should admit people first, then ask about race for their survey purposes and whatnot.

I feel worse for the minorities, though. It’s like, “hey, we think you can’t succeed as easily in life as other, so we’re giving you more help.” I would hate being a minority because I would question everything I would accomplish, thinking, “would I have gotten here if I had a fair chance?”
