harvard and financial aid

Harvard does not give any merit scholarships, simply financial aid based on income. When i fill out my fafsa i am considered an independent because i was a ward of the court after age 13, does that mean Harvard will base my financial aid package off my personal income, or still my parents?

If you are a ward of the state, only YOUR income/assets will be considered. You are considered independent for financial aid purposes. No parent info is required on the FAFSA form.

BUT Harvard uses the Profile also to determine financial aid. I think you need to contact Harvard about your situation and ask what they require on the Profile for students in your situation. Maybe someone else here knows…
