I’m a senior and will be applying to college this semester. Do I have a chance at the top schools?
SAT: 740 Math, 800 Cr, 800 Writing, 2340 Total
I’ve gotten all A’s except 1 A- my freshman year in English.
I’ve taken the maximum number of AP classes my school allows and gotten all 5s.
My school doesn’t rank, but I am definitely the top of the class and my recs will reflect this.
I am also the student body president and a national merit semifinalist.
I play many musical instruments and am the lead in the school play.
I am a white girl from Los Angeles going to a Catholic all girls school
These schools are crapshoots. Sure you have a shot, but who knows with these?
You have a really high chance at Harvard and Yale!!! Chance me back?
Agree with above poster. You have a chance, but not any better than anyone else. You don’t stand out to me in any way, especially for those schools. NMSF is standard and often expected at those schools. Student body president is common. Musical instruments as well. Being lead in one school play doesn’t really say much. I put your odds at national average.
Harvard and Yale is a reach for even the best of the best. You will look like an average student to them. Also, what major? I dont see any particular field of interest based on your extracurriculars. Its near impossible to chance anyone for Ivy League schools, but you do have a chance, so definitely apply.
You seem like the typical studious applicant who has just has a sprinkle of leadership as a decorative addition to your resume. Express/emphasize your passion/interests/desired major to become someone special to the admission readers.
Chance back?
