it does feel good to let it all out...kind of like when i cant work (which, recently, is ALWAYS) and instead of working i sit online and vent to my friends about how much work i have. i know its not helping, but it feels good. the annoying thing, and this, IHS, is why people got offended, is when people respond by saying how efficient and productive they are. just lie! its not so hard!

sigh so much
-crappy SATs in relation to most ppl on here
-crappy ECs (+ no sports)
-general lack of agressiveness
-pooring my heart into my essay + substantial editing and ending up mediocre

Oh, and did I mention that my teacher recommender spelled my name wrong on the letter?

Top that.

Hmm lemme see here are my 3 major concerns about applying to HAHvahd.

I'm not a legacy.

My parents aren't donating a building to Harvard anytime soon.

I'm not a half Native American/ half African American who was orphaned at birth and then later raised by illiterate foster parents who never went to college and lived on welfare checks.

Harvard will receive the "Tufts Syndrome" when reading my application because I'm way too qualified and will be wondering why I don't want to enroll in Oxford instead.

Are you really an evil asian....? ~:(

I'm liking the anti-hook idea!

My anti-hooks:
-SAT1 score (not as fabulous as some people)
-lack of legacy (one of the other EA applicants from my school has a sister at Harvard already)
-lack of intense summer programs (research, work, etc)... I really just went to camp!
-a B in my last semester of high school math (despite a 7 on the IB exam... it makes me angry)
-ECs that are possibly not "original" enough... as in loads of music, band, choir, and leadership at my school (clubs, etc)

zackalacka...axfr is already into Princeton and was just kidding in his post...take it easy and dont bash him..

My anti-hook: Harvard has not yet accepted me. Oh, also I'm class of '07!

And I'm not iwannagoivy either...

Anti-Hook:
Being Asian

Anti-Hook:

1) My SAT I scores...are bad.....
2) I'm asian
3) I think I sent in too many recs...even though two of them I didn't even ask for!!!!!

How did that happen?

Okay well my principle just sent it in by herself. And another one sent it in because he thought it would help me if he did. Shrug Oh well there's nothing I can do about it anymore. :o)

My anti-hook:

I'm white. Three people applied SCEA from my high school and there is a fourth one who just got recruited for athletics.
MY SAT II scores could be better, also.

bump........

I have absolutely no job experience......

me too crimson. I have never even tried to get a job and i don't plan on getting one anytime soon.

princiPAL cause the principal is supposed to be your pal. =)

lol spyder

"1. I'm not a legacy.
2. My parents aren't donating a building to Harvard anytime soon.
3. I'm not a half Native American/ half African American who was orphaned at birth and then later raised by illiterate foster parents who never went to college and lived on welfare checks.
4. Harvard will receive the "Tufts Syndrome" when reading my application because I'm way too qualified and will be wondering why I don't want to enroll in Oxford instead."
hahah

exactly how many Asians use CC, my gosh. being white/asian isn't necessarily an anti-hook though, as long as you're living in an area that's not heavily filled with people of your race.
