What does Harvard Book Prize have to do with Harvard? What exactly the Harvard Book Prize?

I got one this year...is it anything like Rensselaer Medal? How will it stand in admission?

Thanks!

There've been a lot of threads about this - search "book awards". Basically, the book award is sponsored by an alumni group in your area. They give the book to your school, along with a list of criteria, and your school's faculty & guidance counselors pick a student that they want to honor. It means that you stand out in your school community, but it's not an official award from Harvard or anything. In admissions it carries about the same weight as any other award from your school.

I got the Harvard Book Prize last year and got into Harvard this year. I asked my college counselor if the Book Prize would help me get in (when i was applying), and she said it had very little impact.
