If you don’t play football at a DI level, your athletic ability will not help gain acceptance. As you’re a new member to CC, you should read this thread from an MIT Admissions Director on chance threads. Everything in it applies to HYPS as well: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/massachusetts-institute-technology/939227-reminder-no-one-not-even-me-can-give-you-an-accurate-chance-at-mit-p1.html
I am very conflicted about whether I should apply to Harvard EA or if I should even waste my time applying at all.
I have taken the SAT twice, and I got a 1450 super-scored, but I plan on taking it in August which will most likely bring me up to a 1500 super-scored. The only problem is that I might not be able to submit my new SAT score for EA. I’m not sure if Harvard will even consider me with such a low standardized test score, but I have a fairly decent GPA.
I have a 3.96+ unweighted/4.78+ weighted after junior year, and I do plenty of extracurricular activities inside and outside of school.
Please let me know what you think.
^^ @mikayla1: Welcome to College Confidential. What you just did is called hijacking a thread. It’s rude (and confusing) to post your worries or questions on another poster thread. If you have questions, you should start your own thread and ask your questions there.
will, I wonder if you could tell us more about your work as a standup comedian. This may be the most interesting thing on your list.
You need to give us more information than just a simple list of stats and ECs. You look competitive, though!
