If you search for it in last year's threads, someone was talking about getting a phone call from their regional rep and it was obviously after May 20, as everybody else was talking about getting their rejection letters. Let me go look it up for you.

The 15 off the waitlist doesn't jive with the Crimson article about yield, which stated that their target number was reached simply from their original accepted group. So, I wonder why they would add 15 more now... perhaps in anticipation of "summer melt"?

To answer the question where other waitlistees are going if they don't go to Harvard...I'm going to Dartmouth...(don't get me wrong...I'm really happy at Dartmouth but this antsy waiting again just makes me feel funny. I wish Harvard just rejected me outright or accepted me.)

According to a round-up story on waitlist action in this morning's Wall Street Journal, Harvard may take between 5 and 10 off the waitlist for the class of 2010 - down from 28 last year.

Georgetown - 10 (down from 70)
Princeton - 0
Swarthmore - 20-30 (up from 18)
Ohio State - 0
UNC-CH - 100 (up from 0)
U of Chicago - 7 (down from 34)
Penn - 10-15
Haverford - 40 (up from 23)

guys... this sucks... it's like waiting for march 31st all over again. except you don't know the exact date... and your chances are 10 times lower.
