I thought I'd begin a thread for "Harvard Class of 2012 - Admitted/Accepted" so not to unintentionally offend any posters who are still awaiting their final wait list status.

This thread welcomes both admitted/accepted students as well as parents.

My son & I are also "anxiously" waiting to receive the acceptance package via "snail-mail." As most of you mentioned, when it's received, we will feel as though our surreal acceptance is definite.

I think you will love the acceptance package. When my son received his on 4-3 we were very impressed. Our finaid package was outstanding. We went to visit Harvard and the surrounging city. He fell in love with it. The campus was absolutely beautiful and full of history. Anyway, he can't wait to start in Sept.

I started a thread about Christian clubs at Harvard. Lot's to look at there if that is something that your child is interested in.

Thanks for posting and for your congratulations.

It was reassuring to read that the finaid package is outstanding, as I'm especially nervous about the money factor.

My son was in Boston a few weeks ago for a Choir Competition with his High School -He too fell in love with Boston. We haven't visited campus yet, although we are looking forward to setting foot there!

We will access your Christian Clubs at Harvard thread.

Congratulations to you and your son on his acceptance!

Has he considered participating in any of the Pre-Orientation programs?

I'll be stalking the Fedex man today. My son has a field trip to Connecticut today, so I have strict instructions to call him if the package comes. I'm hoping to see some finaid, BC was giving us nothing, so anything would be an improvement.

Hey -- just thought I'd chime in. I can't wait either!!! The admissions official said it could come as early as Tuesday so I've been so anxious since then. Hopefully I will get it today.

By now you should have received a phone call from your Harvard Admissions Officer offering you a place in the Harvard Class of 2012. Please accept our congratulations for your outstanding achievements.

Within the next few days you will receive your official admission letter and a packet of materials in the mail. In the mean time, you may wish to visit the Admitted Student Website at Harvard College Admissions Office: Admitted Students. You will need your Admissions Access Code xxxxxx to log in.

Please note that if you have applied for financial aid the Financial Aid Office will be communicating with you by email within 24 hours regarding your financial aid application. If you have not received your Financial Aid Award by the May 27th reply deadline we are able to grant you an extension in order to give you and your family an opportunity to consider your Financial Aid Award as part of your decision. If that is the case, we ask that you please contact your Admissions Officer by calling (617) 495-1551 to request an extension.

We hope that you will decide to join us in Cambridge.

Ahh! I'm so nervous about finaid. I realized that I had sent in the FAFSA but not the college board PROFILE. Is that bad??? I really hope that doesn't affect my package... Is it still the 10% of your parents income? I read that that was the deal for middle class families
