I just got my acceptance package today and nearly fell over when I saw the financial aid! SOOOO generous, and now another reason why I'm so pumped up for Harvard. It's still unreal to me...anyway, congrats to everyone accepted!!! Can't wait to meet you all in September!

Btw, has anyone been able to get their e-mail address yet? I got my pin number and everything, but when I try to activate my e-mail address, it says my ID can't be found in the system. It says I may have to wait at least 1 business day, so Monday maybe???

And I was reading the threads and I'm excited about the Christian groups at Harvard!!

For those of you who have not been able to activate your e-mails, just wait about 1 week. When my son was accepted (RD) he also had the same problem, so when he called they told him it takes about 1 week to activate the e-mails once you accept offer.

Yes, I would call the finaid office and talk to them about negotiating. They are very easy to talk to.

^ ^ Actually, very few students use it ... since everyone uses the online Facebook. However, it's definitely a nice momento to have for the future.

Package came today! We are in MA though. We're going to hit The Coop again on Monday. I want to buy him the Harvard tie, do you think that's too pretenious to wear for graduation? Most of the family wants t-shirts from Harvard, yikes, that'll cost me a pretty penny.

Ivy League Schools This is a fun site with a sale on T-shirts $6.99
my son loves his "Harvard class of 2012" shirt. I also ordered a t-shirt. When we visited Harvard in April I bought the Harvard Mom baseball hat. Everyone around here (Calif) wears UCLA and USC apparel for their kids schools, so why can't I wear harvard stuff? :)

I don't know who's already seen this, but I thought it was useful because it shows where the freshman dorms are with some pictures. I saw it here while doing a search. Click on each building and it will bring up a description with some pictures.

Waitwhat- Yes, Harvard has stopped providing pillows. If your student is going early for Dorm Crew, FAP, FIP, or FUP, they must: bring their own pillow (the vacuum-shrink bags work well for air travel baggage; purchase one in Cambridge-where I don't know; or stuff a pillowcase with sweatshirt until parents arrive the next week for official freshman dorm move-in with the gear.
