***Harvard Class of 2019 Applicants Discussion/Decisions***

@Sajidur4‌ Vanderbilt, Rice, and my major finally at UT. What about you?

On a completely unrelated topic, @skieurope‌ thank you! I’ve been too lazy to actually look up what ‘AFAIK’ means, but the context that you used it in made it click. Thank you lol

@emenya‌ Nice!! As for me, so far, I heard back from MIT… Rejected  confidence destroyed

Got into Ohio state and loyola chicago in the fall and got a likely letter from GW yeaterday, which I’m happy about because it’s probably my top outside of Harvard

@AnnaLuxe Definitely check out Penny Dreadful. It’s set in the Victorian times and is essentially a playing field where all the famous literary characters (Frankenstein, Dorian Grey, Dracula, etc) get to interact and solve this freaky mystery. It’s beyond awesome.

Ohhh I think I’ve heard of that one before! Yeah I’ll definitely look into it

I’m just curious if the notification dates for all American schools are clustered in mid/late March? Because in Canada we mainly have rolling admissions and that seems to take a lot of stress away…

@eabs97‌ Thats cool! That means you’re pretty much set! What major will you pursue?

@eabs97 congrats! Thats great! I applied to GW RD and its also my first choice outside!

@Sajidur4‌ I want to major in history and also maybe study a language or archeology/anthropology. My ultimate goal is to be a history professor

@AnnaLuxe‌ I think for CC purposes, most of the colleges release in late March/Early April. The vast majority of schools have rolling admission or decisions that have been released already. Lol most of my friends are lucky, they already know where they are going haha

@eabs97‌ oh, man… History is my weak point… I want to major in neuroscience:) hopefully

@AnnaLuxe By joint agreement, all the Ivies release decisions on the same day. Your “rumor” is false.

@T26E4 Have you looked at last year’s actual release dates ? Some Ivies released acceptances earlier than their published dates.

@frodosdojo‌ Those would be likely letters. To let desired applicants know they’re interested, increase yield.

@Sajidur4‌ haha ironically I’m kinda better at math and science? But I love history way more so in going with that. Good luck with neuroscience, that’s super cool!

I just got an email from Harvard asking me if I wanted to apply, and that the application cycle started on August 1st. I then spent a nice 5 minutes panicking because my portal wouldn’t open until it did. Do we really have to wait 2 weeks?

@infinityMan are you a senior? I’m very confused by your post. did you apply to Harvard or will you apply for 2016?

@PoisonIvy20 No they would not. I am talking about an email notifying you for an actual acceptance. If you checked last year’s thread Harvard released on 3/27/14. Stanford released on 3/28/14.

@luv2sk8 I already applied. Which is why the e-mail confused me and made me go check my status portal

hmmm that IS confusing. I just checked mine. It’s the same with what I saw 3 months ago.

Always published “by 4/1” until a date agreed to. In 2014, Ivy decision date was 3/27. Stanford is totally separate from Ivy agreement.
