***Harvard Class of 2019 Applicants Discussion/Decisions***

@wilguen and @T26E4 Phew! I kind of knew that he was contradicting what was written on the website but I left it there. Like I mentioned earlier, my interview didn’t exactly go well. I think it may have been because that was literally his ‘opening’ line as soon as we sat down, but I will admit I didn’t handle things as well as I could have too. Oh well, it didn’t go too badly considering I wasn’t rejected haha

@wilguen my interviewer didn’t mention anything about the A,B,C ranking thing. she said interviews were just an additional aspect of the application process and that it was mainly an opportunity for us to ask questions about Harvard.

Hey do you guys know if Harvard is likely to stick to the March 31st date to release final decisions?

@joker258 Hello again, lol. Yep they will stick with March 31st, just like all the other Ivies. Of course unless you get a likely letter :smiley:

hey everyone. Just one question and I’m pretty exited about this. I just got a book deal with Planeta publishing group (biggest spanish-speaking publishing group in the world / kinda like random house but spanish speaking people) This could be pretty great (I’m 19). Do you think this will get my improve my chances of getting into Harvard? How should I tell them of these news? I got deferred at Dartmouth earlier and now I’m just waiting… Thanks.

@render142‌ on your Harvard applicant status portal, there’s an option to upload materials. You can write a letter to harvard admissions and let them know about this really exciting news! Then upload the letter to your portal—that’s what I did with my updates

@nandroida‌ they said the early action decisions would be out by December 15 and I heard back a couple days earlier—do you think that could happen with RD?

@eabs97 I doubt it. EA isn’t like RD, with thousands of people waiting with baited breath. Besides, all the Ivies have to release their decisions on the same day, so it is unlikely Harvard will announce it earlier. We get to suffer the wait that much longer :stuckouttongue:

@render142 Hurry up and upload it NOW. Otherwise you risk the admissions office not seeing it on your application. Good luck!

if you want to know how to make this info substantial, contact me.
it is very good news, but , you need to show then that you are better off at harvard than at any other school.lets say you want to be a pilot, if you apply to harvard, you will not get accepted, they do not provide those services, so your goal should match what they have.

When did or does Harvard still send likely letters?

@CBBoy15‌ what are likely letters? I’ve seen them mentioned a couple times but I’m not familiar with them

Princeton release date is now on March 27th.
I guess other Ivies would be the same.

@eabs97,

A likely letter is a letter from a school to an applicant ahead of an official admission decision indicating that it is likely the applicant will be accepted by the school. So, if one receives a likely letter from Harvard, the school is saying, we haven’t finished our admissions process just yet, but it looks like you’re going to be accepted. The unspoken assumption is that the applicant won’t do anything like fail a bunch of classes, rob a bank, or in some other way, not maintain the status quo.

Hang in there guys… Less than a month whether it’s the 27th or 31st

But again, I hope it’s the 27th!

@2562ivy‌ Penn’s website still says the 31st of March though… http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/apply/applicant_homepage

I just got a request for a Skype interview with an admissions officer. What does that mean???

Well, I guess we can just wait and see what will be the date but I will stck with Pton for now since they just updated it. B-) B-) B-)

@AnnieBot
On the positive side, to confirm that you are in??
I really don’t know but good luck!
